Writing 101, Day Six: A Character-Building Experience
Today, you’ll write about the most interesting person you’ve met in 2014. In your twist, develop and shape your portrait further in a character study. – Mine goes back a few years as I can’t think of anyone that I’ve met this year that would really fit here. I’ve made contact with a few that might fit through my online classes but I will go this route today. – finally might get caught up, who knows??
I met a wonderful lady about 1985; she has been an inspiration to me over the years in many ways. When I first met her she was the Controller at a company where I had applied for a job in accounting (my first career was accounting that lasted 30+ years). She was always encouraging and pushing me to do better and do more. She is definitely one of a kind. A former Mrs. Tennessee, mother, CPA, business owner, mentor, she is so much more to so many people.
Thanks to her unfailing support and encouragement over the years I had the courage to go back to school and get my BS degree. When I thought that I wouldn’t be able to do it I would remember things that she had said to me and a book that she gave me. I really need to dig that little book back out again and read it. Since I’ve decided to go back to school again and get my Masters in Criminal Justice I find myself wondering daily if I can really do it and all the other crap too. I have got to get it all back in perspective again.
Thank you again my wonderful friend, you know who you are. You are forever treasured.
