Writing 101, Day Eight: Death to Adverbs
Go to a public location and make a detailed report of what you see. The twist of the day? Write the post without adverbs.
Here I sit on the computer again, where I’ve been most of the day. First it was school work and talking about managers and private lives of criminal justice employees. Then it was leadership and motivation. Done, and done, and done, posting for class is done until the end of the week. Oh wait, now I have to study for a test on Friday, yuck, for real????
Something else to do, what is it???? Work, that’s what it is, how could I forget that??? Just want to sit and look out the window at the rain and do nothing for a change.
Now it’s off again, trees rushing by in a big green blur. Flying south down that stretch of asphalt called the interstate to Alabama. In a hurry, gotta get there. It’s almost time, haven’t seen him in a week. Has he been gone that long??? My Wywy is coming home today from Florida after being gone a week. Can’t believe how much I’ve missed him and how quiet it has been here. Little brother sits in the back in his car seat saying “Bubba Wywy, Bubba Wywy”. He’s missed him too. Mad dash down the interstate and back home again.
